GOVERNANCE V/S SECULARISM

This has reference to Gurcharan Das’s write up under the caption ”Why voters are poles apart on Narendra Modi” appearing in a widely published news paper on 12/5/13. Shri Das is a very famous writer having many books to his credit besides his regular appearance through Articles in News Papers. So his writing attracted attention of many readers including this one. Das in the write up writes ”India to-day is disconnected and troubled as a result of corruption scandals ,high inflation ,declining growth and a Government in DENIAL.” “ Sick of drifts and paralyses, people desperately seek a strong leader and instantly ask if Narendra Modi might be the one”. He further writes “clearly he has proven the ability to build vibrant economy and usher in corrupt- free Governance”. In this whole write up, Mr. Das has showered praises on Modi and gave instances of his way of good governance, which has helped that state to speed up towards the goal of REAL DEVELOPMENT . He also quotes of his obsession for implementations and compares two canals of equal size which have been completed in just two years’ time where as the old Sardar Srover Canal from Nehru’s days, is still incomplete .Then by covering GUJRAT CANALS with SOLAR PANELS he is conserving water and has made Gujrat a model of SOLAR POWER. He also writes about NAMO’s strategy for BETTER TOMORROW FOR ONE AND ALL. Despite all these good qualities and positive actions and way of GOVERNANCE,of Modi, Das still does not feel it good to avoid racking up old wounds but continues to harp on the 2002 events that happened in Gujrat after TRAIN BURNING incident at Godhara. In this context he also pleads that ‘He (Meaning NAMO) may not have actively connived in the violence, but why doesn’t he show remorse. In this particular case, it is understood that Modi has already been cleared of the allegations, and has passed many tests and legal inquiries in the matter. Then the question is as to why even learned writers like Mr.Das wish Modi,s remorse on the matter. This vast country is suffering from many ills which Das himself has mentioned in the write up. Most problems in this country are CREATED BY THE direct /indirect /negative /selfish actions OF THOSE IN POWER FROM TIME TO TIME since independence. Then before asking Modi for taking blame for the happenings in his state, do these intelligent class of writers not do good to take up all other issues ( THE CAUSES FOR THE PRESENT HORRIBLE CONDIIONS IN THIS COUNTRY ) and wish all in line to be hanged. Why be selective here too? Das admits that Modi can do well while taking up GOVERNANCE. Wish is that he also agrees that proper governance will automatically improve other conditions in the country including the MATTER OF SO CALLED SECULARISM. Other wise too at present most decisions in this country are being taken keeping in view/mind the caste/community of the person involved whether it is matter of admissions in schools/colleges/appointments/promotions/representations in law making bodies even as sufferers of crimes ,as if feelings/pains too have variable affects on such partisan considerations. THEN DAY IN AND DAY OUT, ALL DEMANDS ARE MADE /BENEFITS GIVEN ON SUCH NARROW CONSIDERATIONS. What hellish interpretation of the WORD SECULARISM! God save this nation from such thinking. In the mean time, request is made to all the THINKERS/INTELLIGENTIA/WRITERS and others to please define SECULARISM more honestly and clearly ,so that all the created DIVIDING WALLS are pulled down in interest of a better/prosperous Nation. But surely appeasing some particular caste/community at the cost of others is not SECULARISM ,nor it is good to treat SAVARAN HINDUS meant only to be harmed/tortured and divided further. Hindus as we see have already been divided as SCs/STs/OBCs minorities etc. Since it is the Hindu community only which has so far been divided on many parameters just to weaken it mainly for selfish gains ( by those whether religious preachers or our political class) the prime duty of its body guards/the thinkers in community and all is to rise up unitedly to say “NO” to any further divides/Harassments, rather need is to fight to the hilt to ensure that HINDUS NOW shall be a well knit one single community and all the dividing walls created so for have to be DEMOLISHED. ---JAI BHARAT Jai hind RDAgarwal-A-86 –INDIRA Nagar,Lucknow-Blog-www.rdagarwal.blogspot.com –FB-rdagarwal-13/5/13
