SUPREMACY OF THE ELECTED ONES

A few days back a movement was started against CORRUPTION under the leadership of shri ANNAHAZARE by some committed/selfless persons who volunteered to sacrifice their comforts so that the present and the future generations in the country do not have to face this DEMON OF CORRUPTION in their day to day life . Shri hazare a 74 year old social activist who decided not to marry and remain free for the people. His whole life has been a selfless service for the sake of others. During the course of this movement, people from all walks of life gave their support for the cause. There were cries through out the COUNTRY impressing upon the Governments and the elected persons to hear the VOICE OF ANGUISH from the citizens. For the purpose SHRI HAZARE also took a vow to go for indefinite hunger strike. The purpose was simply to awaken the political class by JOLTS. But they decided to remain so insensitive that the old man was continuing to be on fast. The days were passing by. The man was loosing on his health. Many tried to impress upon the political class headed by the ministers and the Prime minister to respond positively to the very JUSTIFIED AND REASONABLE demand of organizers of the movement. But the political class seemed dilly-dallying the issue even at the risk of health and even life of shri ANNAJI. There were gatherings in lacks all around shri ANNAJI as well as cries through out the length and breadth of the COUNTRY simply requesting for justice. Since response from the political class was not forth coming in a decent way, some, out of ANGUISH against the political class might have spoken some harsh words against them and only tried to turn the mirror towards their face. Might be that some in the elected class could not relish seeing their own faces in the mirror and expressed resentments in the name of OVERLAPING /CHALLANGING “PREVILAGES OF THE ELECTED CLASS. Honestly the political class could take these words in SPORTSMAN’s SPIRIT and could have decided to introspect. They instead became RED FACED and moved motion of privileges against some very active members of the TEAM ANNA. In this connection it is also thinkable that during expressing resentments people speak loudly or even very loudly which might have hurt the so called manniyas. The privilege move can take any turn, still being members of the elected bodies and being part of the teams of lawmakers, it may be good to do some serious thinking as to why going by actions of this class of persons/the happenings in these temples of law making, general public is not eligible to make such assessments. Some instances/ happenings are quoted here after:-
There have been cases in the PARLIAMENT when its members were charged for taking money in order to put some particular questions in the house.
There have been instances when an ex PM has been said to have bribed heavily to some MPs to save the GOVT. from NO CONFIDENCE vote. Then the bribe takers were also not barred from accepting ministerial post at the centre or in the state even as CM. Even after knowing such happenings, no laws were made to ensure non recurrence of such happenings.
Most recently bundles of CURRENCY NOTES were waived in the PARLIAMENT by some MPs who alleged that money was given to them again by some MPs to defect or abstain from voting in order to save the GOVT. on motion of NO CONFIDANCE. The case is still sub-judice, and whatever may be the final verdict, but still it seems certain that in this case only some MANNIYAS are involved.
This is very general assessment that about more than 150 MPs in the present house of parliament are of dubious character and some are reported involved in heinous crimes, such as MURDERS/ RAPES and EXTORSIONS etc.The positions in most states in the country too are reported no different. In some cases such persons hold/or have been holding ministerial positions as well. But to curb such tendencies and to clean the systems, actions /thoughts by this class are generally not there.
Going by the media reports, it is known that during discussions in PARLIAMENT as well as the STATE ASSEMBLIES percentage of attendance is generally negligible, except when they are forced by WHIPS or when there are going to be MOTIONS OF CONDOLENCE on the death of some present or ex-member of the house. This only indicates that most are not at all interested in the welfare/safety and development of the nation. When they attend the house it is generally under compulsions or when they know that nothing serious is to be discussed, as if serious discussions and framing of the LAWS are none of their jobs. In most cases where bills for LAW MAKING are put up these are passed enblock and without discussions, what to talk of any serious discussions.
Do the country men not see that serious problems such as EXPLOSIVE SPREAD OF POPULATION, PULLUSIONS OF ALL KINDS i.e. air, noise, dirt, congestions at all places including schools, hospitals, on roads, in market places etc. are never discussed by LAW MAKERS, indicating no concern of the so called MANNIYAS for problems being faced by the general public . Though they seem very much concerned about their own and their nears and dears’ personal security and benefits.
Many a time there are PENDAMONIUMS IN the LEGISLATURES and PARLIAMENT while TRIVIAL AND PERSONAL issues are talked about. Members are generally not permitted to express themselves as there are disruptions from the other side of the speaker. Many a time even chairs, mikes etc are seen flouting in the house as are thrown on others [all members of the same house]. This some times has resulted in physical injuries also to some. Just now even some MPs including MINISTERS IN OFFICE are in jail, at the centre as well as in some states., on charges of CORRUPTION/MISAPPROPRIATION and rapes and murders as well. This also includes DERELICTION OF DUTIES. Even outside the ASSEMBLIES /PARLIAMENT or other subordinate bodies down up to the PANCHAYATS levels general behavior of some elected ones does not inspire the public to tread the path of SATVIKTA,TRUTHFULNESS, ,COMMITMENT TO JOB, PATRIOTISM and to remain as LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. As most these persons keep engaged in MUD SLINGING/FAULT FINDING/ BLAME GAMES with others at the same time themselves TREATING THE NATION as THEIR PERSONASL PROPERTY having all the rights to flout the set rules, out of VANITY AND EXALTED EGO tread under the feet of ‘AHANKAR’ all the LAWS supposedly framed by this very class. Not only this, many a time their nears and dears too are found behaving similarly.
Now the question is that can such acts and behavior of these MANNIYAS bring the desired respect and sympathy for the elected ones, for which serious discussions and enactments of law are the need of the time, so that LAW MAKERS get fully engaged in lawmaking and act in the BEST INTERESTS of the Nation even sacrificing their personal interests and comforts so that no one has to speak ill of them and express anger. Such conditions as detailed here to fore EXIST MOSTLY at all levels of elected bodies.
On the basis of what has been mentioned here to fore, and in case the desire is to see that the country becomes free from all MALADIES/SICKNESSES and INFECTIOUS DESEASES as these exist now, peoples’ right to live peaceful life is to be ensured , COUNTRY has to develop on all parameters so that the present generation do not always have to be apprehensive of the coming troubles and we have to leave a prosperous legacy for our future generations, then minimum need is that every body irrespective of the possessions and position one holds has to live as a common citizen, face the troubles what so ever are there without any GOVERNMENT provided BODY GUARDS and any special markings on the vehicles they move on without display of any BEACONS . All position holders instead must move in the public even when moving in vehicles should generally keep the window panes open so as to see and feel every thing themselves, and develop the tendencies to correct and develop where ever so required as COMMON CITIZEN
JUST NOW THE COUNTRY AS WELL AS THE POLITICAL CLASS HAS DEVELOPED THE TENDENCIES TO OFFER AND GIVE FREEBEES AND THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL ALWAYS WISHING DOLES FROM THE GOVERNMENTS. THIS TENDENCY NEEDS BEPUT A BRAKE TO AND INSTEAD ALL MUST BE EXHORTED TO WORK FOR WHAT SO EVER THEY DESIRE TO HAVE. THE DUTIES MUST TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER RIGHTS, THIS MUST ALWAYS BE DECLARED BY ALL THE POLITICAL PARTIES AS WELL AS THE LAWMAKING BODIES.OUR CONSTITUTION MANDATES RIGHT TO EQUALITY FOR ALL CITIZENS,THEN HOW IT IS THAT SPECIAL CATEGORY IN THE NAME OF VIPs/VVIPs have been created who enjoy many special privileges in respect of security /travels etc. This need be treated as violation of the CONSTITUTION and anomaly needs be fought out. Hope the country men as well as TEAM ANNA are conscious of if and have added it to their AGENDA.
